University of Central Florida
The University of Central Florida
is a major research university experienced at partnering with local,
state, and federal agencies, nongovernmental organizations, and industry
to solve environmental and water resources problems. Several UCF faculty
members have experience, long-term data sets, and research capabilities
directly relevant to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and the forthcoming
recovery and restoration efforts. In particular, biology faculty have
experience assessing the health of coral reefs, estuaries and lagoons,
mangroves, oyster beds, saltmarshes, sea grass beds, and sea turtles.
The University is a member of the Gulf
